On an amazingly clear day we drove up to Hurricane Ridge in the Olympic Mountains. We could see Mt. Baker in the distance.
We climbed up to Sunshine Point to get a better view of the Strait of Juan de Fuca and into Canada
We stayed in Sequim which is full of lavender farms.
The Dungeness Spit extends out into the strait of Juan de Fuca
It is full of washed up logs or snags as the locals call them.

We went tidepooling at Salt Creek Recreation Area. It was the lowest tide there in 20 years.
We found green anemones.
The kelp was really slippery.

We hiked to SolDuc Falls on the way to our next stop at Forks.
The Hoh rainforest was magical.
We expected to see a gnome jump out.
Moss was hanging from the trees everywhere.

It had some pretty rocks.
We found some starfish hanging on.
We braved the waves and took a shot.
First beach was even more windy and foggy with blowing rain.
Ruby beach was closed so we drove down to Beach 4.

A drive around Lake Quinalt had more rainforests and waterfalls.

We ended up in Tacoma and went to the Point Defiance Park to hike and visit the zoo.
They also had an aquarium.
We finished our day by sliding down from the park to the marina. A fun end to the trip.
