On Oct. 1, 2023 I attended a James Kay workshop to photograph the colorful aspens. We must have hit peak color because the yellows were just electric. These images were taken in several places in the San Juan mountains near Telluride.

On our way to a photography trip in the Dolomites in June of 2023, my friends , Emily, Susan and I landed at the San Marco Polo airport on the Venice mainland.. Since we were so close to Venice and the other islands we planned an overnight stay to the colorful island of Burano.. Then we took the water taxi back to Venice and wandered a bit more. We even took a gondola ride.

Our photography tour took us to Santa, Magdalena., Val Gardena, the very steep Passo Falzarego where we rode a cable car up to snow, the picturesque village of Castlerotto, the high alpine meadows of Alpe Suisi, the path to Tre Cime di Lavaredo and the high mountain hamlet of Monte Lussari. We even ventured into Slovakia to the resort town of Bled with its turquoise lake and castles.

In August of 2022 I went on an adventure photo workshop with James Kay Photography to New Zealand. On this amazing adventure we took 4 helicopter trips to land on glaciers. We also explored the beautiful lakes and river valleys of the Southern Alps.

An Oct. 2021 photo trip to Acadia National Park in Maine found lots of fall colors and lots of crowds.

In July, 2021 I went on a photography workshop to Glacier Bay near Juneau, Alaska. We spent the week on a restored 1929 wooden motor vessel with 3 other students and two instructors. It was an exciting adventure.

In May, 2021 I attended a photo workshop with James Kay Photography where we hiked, waded through creeks and 4 wheeled to photogenic spots.

From March 24, 2020 to April 30, 2020,Huntsville was in quarantine lockdown because of Covid 19. For a diversion while I was isolated, I shot at least one image every day from my deck. These are some of the images.

We explored the Canadian Rockies from Banff to Yoho to Jasper travelling up the Icefields Parkway. There were lots of opportunities for hikes.

In 2016, we sailed on the Star Flyer to the Leeward Islands in the Caribbean. In 2019 we sailed on the bigger Royal Clipper starting in Barbados. Both times we climbed the mast of these gorgeous sailing ships.

On a Road Scholar trip to Albuquerque we spent several days at the Balloon Fiesta. The highlight of the fiesta was a hot air balloon ride. We ascended with hundreds of balloons and even flew over the Rio Grande.

On a photographic trip to Death Valley we visited Zabriskie Point, the Mesquite Sand Dunes, Artists' Point, Teakettle Junction and the Devil's Racetrack where stones have been mysteriously making tracks in the soft mud.

On an adventure photography trip I visited Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument in Utah. Our adventures included wading through streams and using a rope to descend into a canyon.

A Viking Cruise down the Rhine River gave us the opportunity to see many castles high up on the banks.

In the summer of 2017 we drove all across Newfoundland for 2 weeks. Our favorite sightings were of the puffins and the icebergs

In late Oct. 2017 The Blue Ridge Parkway was just beginning to show its autumn colors.. On the Cherohala Skyway in Tennessee we encountered hoar frost as we climbed higher and higher.

Road Scholar took us to Scotland where we visited the Scottish Highlands and the Isle of Skye.

A driving trip from Sedona to the south rim of the Grand Canyon provided great views and some hikes including walking part way down into the canyon.

These images were taken on a trip to Baha, Ca. to see whales. The grey whales come down from Alaska to give birth in the lagoons of the Baha peninsula.. One mother whale brought her baby right up to our little boat so that we could pet her.

After my summer trip to Iceland I wanted to see what it looked like in winter. So I joined a photography tour to visit glaciers, the Jokolarson Lagoon, the black sand beaches with washed up icebergs and an ice cave among other beautiful sights.

A Road Scholar Trip took us to Spain and Portugal. Our favorite sites were the town of Ronda which was divided by a canyon and the Alhambra in Granada.

My first trip to Iceland was with Overseas Adventure Travel. We travelled throughout the beautiful country marvelling at the many waterfalls, the incredibly green valleys, the steep volcanic mountains and the moss covered balsamic formations.

These images are from travels to Tetons, the Southwest Canyon Country, Glacier National Park, Atchafalaya Swamp, the church that my mom attended in Quincy, Washington State, Oregon, Nova Scotia and Alaska , among other places.

Some of these images were taken on trips to Italy, Portugal, Tahiti, the Netherlands, Iguazu Falls, Patagonia, Croatia, France and Switzerland.
